Tom Maayan, Not Your Usual Big East Point Guard

Tom Maayan's physical talent creates headlines, but it all starts with maturity beyond his years.

He has lived in three different regions of the world and speaks four languages, French, Spanish, Hebrew and English. The Canadian native, who grew up in Israel, knew what he wanted for a very long time. But it would take him a trip half way across the world to accomplish the task.

"I always wanted to be a great college basketball point guard," he said. "One of the reasons I chose Seton Hall over Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State and Virginia is because (head coach) Kevin Willard and (assistant) Shaheen Holloway were great point guards in the Big East."
