Andre Barrett Signs With New York Knicks

Former Seton Hall men's basketball player Andre Barrett (2000-04) has signed a free agent contract with the New York Knicks it was announced today. Terms of the deal were not announced.

Barrett played with the Knicks team in the 2004 Pro Summer League in Long Beach, Calif. In six starts, Barrett averaged 7.7 points and 3.5 assists in 28.3 minutes played.

In his stellar four-year career at Seton Hall from 2000-04, Barrett finished as the No. 7 scorer in Pirate history (1,861 points) and No. 2 assist man (662) while becoming the all-time leader in minutes played (4,296). As a senior, he was an honorable mention All-American, the Haggerty Award winner as the top player in the New York Metropolitan Area and the Pirates' first First Team All-BIG EAST performer since 1993. He averaged 17.3 points and 5.9 assists while leading Seton Hall to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Barrett graduated from Seton Hall in May with a degree in communications. He was a two-time captain and two-time All-District selection who led Seton Hall in scoring in each of the last three seasons.

The Knicks' training camp runs from October 5-12 in Charleston, S.C.
